Baby Registry: Honestly, What Do I Need?
Time has flown with this pregnancy. Billy and I are enjoying the little milestones Eleanor is reaching each week. I love reading my Baby Center and What to Expect apps, which tell me how big she is getting, and how many weeks we have left till she makes her presence.
So, let’s talk baby shower and baby registry. Has your head begun to spin in circles yet? Are you unsure about what you actually need? Thank god for mommy friends! I started my registry, walked into to the baby store and honestly didn’t know where to start. I knew that I wanted a few things that I had done some research on (total new mom moment), such as our stroller, swing, and my breastfeeding pump, but it seemed like there was so much more besides that!
I hit the aisle with the strollers. I was walking ahead of Billy, and once I found the Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System on display, Billy helped lift it out. We walked up and down the aisle with it. Yup, I loved it. And, better yet, Billy did too! After that, we were both like deer in headlights. So, we went home, and decided to ask our friends with kids what we needed.
I took to our online registry pretty quickly. Billy and I did it together. It was nice having mommy back up as well (thank you, Misty Prewitt!). If you haven’t checked Misty Prewitt’s blog out, you must. She’s a mom of two, is starting her own business, and works in the wedding world. She’s kind of amazing! Also, she’s an amazing friend who doesn’t let me stress over the little things. She is a wonderful mom.
Are you putting together your registry yet? Wondering what you need? Everyone is different, and everyone has different tastes. I think having close family and friends giving us suggestions was the biggest help for us in compiling our list together.
We also need to figure out where we’re going to put all of the stuff, which is kind of daunting too. We want to be as prepared and organized as possible before Eleanor makes her arrival in May!
Here are a couple helpful links to steer you in the right direction as you move forward. Now, I am a new mom too! All this is new to me as well, but I just thought these were super helpful!
