As fans and followers of this blog well know, I have puppy named Archer. He’s my little sous chef in the kitchen. And, he’s even inspired a couple of the recipes (dog treat recipes, that is) on this blog and on my blog at Parade Magazine.
This past spring, after searching for healthy, all-natural dog treats for Archer, and after discovering how expensive they could be, I took at stab at making my own. The result: my Homemade Peanut Butter Dog Treats (pictured above). They are Archer approved, so trust me, your doggie pals will love them.
My next Archer adventure happened earlier this summer. He had an upset stomach, and when I took him to the vet, the vet told me that pumpkin was a great, natural stomach soother. So, once again, I headed to the kitchen and whipped up another batch of homemade, Archer-approved treats: my Homemade Pumpkin Dog Treats. Archer loved them and they really seemed to help!
Do you cook for your pet? What have you tried that works well for you? I’d love to hear from you.
Here’s a recent picture of our beloved pup, who’s about 9 months old now:
