Feel Like a Pregnant Goddess in Your Maternity Pictures
The third trimester is drawing to a close and we are getting closer and closer to meeting our precious little one.
I am about 6 weeks away from meeting our sweet Eleanor. The nesting is in full effect — no lie. I have been asked about a handful of times by those around me whether or not I have my hospital bag ready. Oh wow…this is getting serious. The Pack n Play is set up and the nursery in nearing completion. So I’m in the middle of all things baby related, and nesting, so my very best friend decided she wanted to document some precious moments of my growing belly.
Maternity pictures were never really on my radar. I was a little hesitant at first — my body is changing, and, well, I don’t feel super pretty. But Christina insisted, as she does very well. She made me feel comfortable and beautiful, like a pregnant goddess. I was stressing as to what to wear during the shoot, and then got a text saying she had it covered. She brought over goddess-like flowy dresses — everything I wanted, but couldn’t really find in the short time we had discussed the shoot. She made it happen. That is Christina though! If you know her well, she is also someone who doesn’t take “no” lightly.
We took to the beach, and shot a few pictures in my house as well. She made time for a fun shoot between Billy and I on the beach, which was filled with laughs, wet sand and reading Dr. Seuss books. Christina made me feel like the most beautiful pregnant lady and I don’t know if I would have felt comfortable with anyone else documenting such a special time in my life! The laughter, fun, and joy we had over the two days of shooting will be a story I will tell Eleanor (or “Ellie,” as we call her) for years.
Ladies, my advice to you is to document these precious moments. Wear your tiger stripes proudly. Enjoy those kicks in the ribs at all hours of the night. We are superheroes. It still amazes me every day that I am growing a human and I am the one person keeping her safe, healthy, and the one person who will go through the most scary time and pain in my life to bring her into this world.
I would love to hear about your pregnancy story and whether or not you took maternity pictures! Please share below.
