Rice Cooker Recipes: Quick Pasta Dinner

Rice Cooker Pasta DinnerAs many of you know, my kitchen is under construction. So, I have been using a rice cooker, slow cooker, and microwave for cooking my daily dinners lately. And, with a little bit of creativity, I have been finding ways to still have a great meal every night.

Tonight was no exception. I made the following quick-and-easy pasta dinner all in my rice cooker! This took no time at all and could easily be made in a dorm room.

Quick Rice Cooker Pasta Dinner Recipe

I used 3 cups of room temp water and poured it into the rice cooker, along with about 2 tbsp of olive oil.

Then, I added the uncooked pasta, turned on the rice cooker and let it do its thing. I checked on it about 1/2 way through the rice cooker’s first cycle.

When it was al dente (semi under done), I then added the tomato sauce and kept the rice cooker on warm.

Once everything gets up to a suitably tasty temp, sprinkle with some Parmesan cheese and then you’re ready to eat!

  1. I am in the same boat! I have no major appliances in the kitchen-to-be yet. I have been trying to cook with a slow cooker, a rice cooker, a microwave and an electric skillet. I HAD a tabletop oven, but the elements on it burnt out. I’m finding it difficult to find things to make for dinners, since most of the dinners I am used to making require some sort of baking (casseroles, breads, biscuits, etc.)
I would love it if you could send me some more ideas like this one, or link them. I am running out of imagination. My last attempt at skillet fried cookies turned out horribly, lol.

    1. Thanks for visiting Kitchenability, Steve! I’d recommend using 1 pound of pasta for this recipe. Let me know how it turns out! 🙂
