Cold Iced Coffee Recipe for Busy New Moms
It’s morning and the coffee is brewing. My child has nursed and now I have a happy baby, lying on her back, cooing at the world. I, on the other hand, am not ready to face the world yet. Not untill that hot cup of heaven hits my lips.
I set my warm, filled-to-the-brim cup of coffee on the table. While looking back at baby Eleanor on the floor, I take a few small sips, and then we play our morning games. We smile back and forth at one another.
As I go to put her down for a morning nap, I realize I have about a ½ pot of coffee left. Time has slipped away from me and now it’s cold.
So, what to do with this cold brewed coffee? Well, I decided to make a semi unorthodox iced coffee recipe with it! No, it’s not cold brewed. Yes, it’s basically brewed coffee that’s gone cold. But, come on moms. How many of you actually get to drink the amount of coffee you brew?
So, I took this cold coffee, added a little chocolate syrup and milk to it and — bam! — made a cold, iced coffee.
I know this sounds way too simple, but it tasted wonderful and gave me a fantastic afternoon pick me up!
- 8 oz coffee
- Chocolate syrup
- ¼ cup milk (add less if you like it stronger)
- Drizzle cup and sides with chocolate syrup.
- Add milk and ice and top with coffee.
