25 Fourth of July Recipes: Burgers, Sides & Drinks

It’s time to get ready for your 4th of July cookout next weekend!

Since many of you will either be planning your own cookouts or figuring out something to bring to someone else’s celebration, I thought I’d round up a bunch of tasty Fourth of July recipe ideas for you. Enjoy!

For the grill:

Before firing up the grill, check out my Ultimate Hamburger Helper: 6 Burger Recipes post, which features my healthy recipe for Chicken Burgers, along with several other patty-and-bun treats, like The Ultimate Umami Burger (White on Rice Couple) and Black Bean Sliders with Creamy California Avocado Sauce (Cookin’ Canuck).

Also, what BBQ is complete without slathering some tasty BBQ sauce on something? For some homemade ideas, I suggest either my Tequila-Spiked BBQ Sauce or this sweet-and-spicy concoction Billy and I dubbed Cochran BBQ Sauce.

For kabobs, you must try the Garlicky Beef Kabobs and Grilled Honey, Lime and Sriracha Chicken Skewers I blogged about here, at the beginning of the summer grilling season.

On the side:

Check out this Spicy Corn on the Cob recipe on my Parade blog. It’s a unique way of preparing your corn and your guests will love it, especially if they like a bit of spice! Also, it’s easy enough to put a few ears of corn aside, sans spice rub, for your guests that prefer the typical butter-and-salt spread. It’s all about options!

To complement your burger and your corn, I’d also suggest trying out one of the 10 fun and fresh summer salads I rounded up. These are especially good options if you’re heading to a cookout and don’t want to arrive empty handed. Whip up my Strawberry and Goat Cheese Salad, my Remixed Caprese Salad with Sun-Dried Tomatoes, my Easy Macaroni Salad with Herb Garden Vinaigrette, or one of the other 7 summery salads listed.

To drink:

To wash everything down, I’d suggest checking out one of the iced tea recipes listed in my Homemade Iced Tea Recipes roundup, or mixing up my recipe for Jungle Juice (pictured above), my refreshing Peach Bellinis, or my Spiked Blueberry Lemonade. All are great for a warm summer day!

I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July! Eat well!
