Kitchenability in Orlando, FL: Day 1
Yesterday I flew to Orlando, FL. The reason for my trip? To film a Kitchenability segment for Life Love Shopping.
My mom decided to tag along with me on this trip, so we got up super early (I’m talking 3 am) to head to the airport.
When we got to Orlando, we both were hungry, so we found a great little place called Italio to have lunch. It reminded me of a Chipotle, but Italian-style. You could pick a wrap, salad, or pasta and put on whatever toppings you like! My mom and I enjoyed a delicious salad topped with lots of veggies and grilled chicken. We also shared something we both thought was very interesting: cannoli chips. They were really good!
After we left lunch, we went straight to Publix to get all the groceries I needed for my Life Love Shopping cooking demo. Having my mom around, she also insisted we get some healthy breakfast items like oatmeal, granola and fruit for breakfast. Now I know where I get it from! LOL!
Once we got back to the hotel, I had a quick meeting with my media coach Ellie. And my mom was able to take a dip in the pool. We then both washed up and headed to a highly acclaimed sushi restaurant called Shari Sushi Lounge for dinner. Talk about delicious!
We split three different sushi rolls, one lobster and crab roll, one ahi tuna roll and one roll that was topped with a slice of lime, which, for a citrus lover like myself, was absolutely to die for. We washed it down with an amazing Japanese ginger beer. And, we didn’t stop there. I ordered avocado doughnuts for dessert. Yes, avocado doughnuts!!!! So different, yet so delicious!!!!
It was a great first day in Orlando.
Check back to follow along with me on my trip. I will be reporting on my adventures daily, so stay tuned…
