The Best Mother’s Day Brunch in Virginia Beach
With Mother’s Day this weekend, I thought I’d share my three favorite places for Mother’s Day brunch in Virginia Beach (my hometown!). You can always cook at home, of course, and, if you do, you *must* try my recipe for Nutella French Toast, but, if you are a local here in the area, and would prefer to dine out, here are a few of my favorite spots.
Sweetwater Cuisine, 4216 Virginia Beach Blvd.
This is the place for delicious, southern-style cuisine with class! They offer a beautiful Mother’s Day brunch every year, and they go all out! Who doesn’t love chicken and waffles? Mom will love it. It’s a quaint, little place that mainly serves as a full catering operation, but they have a nice restaurant in the Willis Wayside shopping center off of Virginia Beach Boulevard.
Citrus, 2265 West Great Neck Road & 357 North Great Neck Road
If you ever visit Virginia Beach, this is an amazing place for breakfast in general. Their citrus pancakes are my favorite. The variety of their brunch menu is awesome, and their homemade items will make mom smile. It’s not just your average pancake house with eggs and bacon!
Tubby’s Tavern, 2224 Virginia Beach Blvd.
This place is wonderful. It’s small, yet the size doesn’t make a difference. Mom will love this hidden gem. Their Bloody Mary bar and mimosas flow graciously throughout brunch and let’s not forget the secret: French toast! The menu comes with classics you’d expect, if you’re pancakes and eggs person, and some original recipes. There is something on the menu for everyone — especially mom!
