School for Eleanor

When the time came to start thinking about enrolling our daughter in school, I was a bit overwhelmed, to be honest. The choices seemed semi-endless, and the cost seemed unattainable. I went on many tours, looked over many tuition sheets, cried a little, then got back up, set new goals in what we as a family wanted in a school, and that’s when I found Emmanuel Lutheran Church School. Shannon, the preschool director, took us on our first tour, and from that day forward it felt like home. Within hours of visiting Emmanuel Lutheran for the first time, I knew it was the place we wanted to be rooted in for the next three years.

First Day of School

On the first day of school we were greeted with endless smiles and hello’s from everyone. Every morning on the days Eleanor attends school we sing a little song to get her excited for the day ahead. She walks into Emmanuel Lutheran with a smile (some days). Mrs. Shannon, Mrs. Wheeler, and Eleanor’s teachers know how to quickly turn those frowns upside down. They have a heart bigger than most, and will offer a hug in the morning or sweet “how are you,” and mean it. As a mom, you appreciate someone asking how you are!

Building Relationships

As the days turned into months and I witnessed my daughter growing like a weed in front of my eyes, and developing genuine friendships at school, which made the heart grow even more. Observing her language skills exploding, and seeing her joy for coloring go from a few scribbles to more defined fun pieces of art. I look forward to each morning smile and hello, and my weekly chats with the directors and teachers. It never fails that I get fun stories about Eleanor being the class comedian, laughing at herself, and bringing a smile to everyone around her. It has been about six months since Eleanor started at Emmanuel Lutheran Church School, and my family and I feel truly blessed. We have gained a second family who loves our daughter as much as we do. I cannot thank this school enough for its dedication to our daughter’s education in helping build the essential skills and relationships needed for future growth. They have blessed us with a foundation for our family, and we cannot thank them enough.
