How Busy Moms Can Keep Themselves Fit and Healthy
Guest Post By Micheal Morelli
Being a mom means putting your kids first. You sacrifice “me time” to make way for your children’s needs. But in the middle of these needs and responsibilities, you should not forget or sacrifice your health. You need to get enough rest as much as possible, give yourself the right treatment that it deserves and eat the right food all the time. It may seem impossible to do all these so here is a list of tips that you should consider:
Snack smart
You may have considered a list of healthy foods for your major meals. However, your snack can be sabotaging your own fitness. Always see to it that you are buying something healthy during your break. One of the problems that moms encounter is lack of time to prepare healthy snacks. The best thing you can do is to allow time for food preparation and be more careful with your purchases. Nuts and fruits are good for snacks. Bringing food packed at home when you go to work will save you from buying processed food and other unhealthy options from the fast food chains.
Pick an Easy Workout
If you are a very busy person, working out is not really a part of your daily priority. You always have an excuse, either you can say that you are tired or you do not have time for other things. The best way for you to make sure that you will be able to exercise regularly is to pick an easy workout. Do not push yourself into doing something that you do not really want. Make your workout routine fun. Start with the easiest exercises that you can execute even without the help of other people. If you think you do not have time to go to the gym, there is exercise equipment that can be used at home. You can consider this option or you can also go out and breathe some air as you jog around.
Meditate
There are a lot of benefits you can get from meditation. With all the stress caused by work and other tasks that you are expected to accomplish at home, a time alone is very important. You need to stop and meditate. You can do this before you start your day or before you go to sleep. This can help you increase your mindfulness and it can also be a good practice to release all the worries. Meditation is meant to help you cope emotionally. Stop and focus on yourself.
Insert Naps During the Day
If you want to be productive, you need to give your mind some minutes to rest. This is the secret of successful and creative people. As a very busy mom, you should always consider the fact that you will also reach that point in the day when you feel burned out. If you keep on working, you will not be able to give your best. Naps can help you get back the strength you need to go through the day. You can rest and close your eyes for ten minutes. That should be enough for you to regain the energy you need.
Play Games
As a mom quality time is precious with your kids. This is intended not only for them to get enough attention from you. It can also be beneficial to you because this is one way for you to relax. After a very busy day at work, you should give yourself that privilege to play with your kids before or after dinner. Weekends are also perfect for game time. You can choose a sport that you and your kids both enjoy. Join a team or just play as a family. This will make you feel better after every stressful set of weekdays.
Don’t Skip Meals
If you are a working mom, you should understand that skipping meals can be very risky. You should take care of your physical body. Eat the right food during major meal time. The most important meal of the day is breakfast. Eat more protein during this meal time and you will surely enable yourself to do more throughout the day. Eat healthy, eat more natural food and try the best protein powder in your daily routine.

So the link takes you to WHEY protein which is what I am currently incorporating in my morning shake/breakfast. But I do wonder which is the best based on physical needs of mom not marketing?
