Staying Healthy during Pregnancy
How to Stay Healthy and Active During Pregnancy
Guest Contributor Article by Carolina Martel
Pregnancy demands a lot of care and attention, it is the time of a woman’s life when she is physically vulnerable and she needs a lot of mental, physical and emotional support. Unfortunately, people either do not realize this or they don’t take enough measures to make sure that the mother and fetus remain healthy. There are certain steps that can be taken to ensure that the mother and child both stay healthy during the pregnancy period, let me briefly tell you about some of this methods and tips.
Do Not Take Stress
If there is anything that is most deteriorating for your pregnancy, it is stress. Everything related to our feminine aspects of biology comprises our endocrine system which is highly affected by stress. When our body copes with stress, it needs to steal certain hormones away from us which causes the depletion of those hormones. This leads to a dysfunctional endocrine system. Unless the problem is treated, it can lead to the loss of pregnancy as well. So you ought to be very careful about stress and find activities that you like and are stress-relieving.
Eat More Proteins
Since your food intake is not for one person, you need to pay extra attention to what you’re eating. Eliminate the junk food and start eating more of met proteins. Eggs are an amazing source of proteins but some women don’t prefer eating eggs while pregnant because the smell can make them feel nauseous. If you have this problem OR if you’re a vegan (which is amazing, btw!) you need to start eating lentils and certain vegetables in excess that provide for your daily protein intake. Eating healthy is a major part of pregnancy routine and sometimes, dieticians prepare whole charts for women who are pregnant.
Try To Move Around
I know incredible women who stick to their workout routines at least halfway through the second trimester and while this is great for their health, I would suggest that if you are not very experienced and if you do not understand the impact of certain exercises on your body’s mechanisms, then avoid working out too much altogether. Instead, join a yoga class. Yoga is an excellent practice for women who are pregnant because it keeps them healthy and active. Alternatively, you can choose walking. Walk each evening for about forty-five minutes, especially during the last trimester if your doctor permits and you should be good to go!
Stay Away From Drugs…
… AND Alcohol. You need to realize that the most important thing for you during your pregnancy is your health and your child’s health. If you drink too much alcohol or if you habitually smoke marijuana, you need to stop doing that right away. Drugs are not good for a person’s health and they can have a super deteriorating effect on one’s health. If you are suffering from too much stress, however, you can occasionally use a little marijuana every day. You can easily found a marijuana dispensary in Waterloo, visit here.
