March 9 is National Meatball Day!
To celebrate, consider making my Sweet Chili Cranberry Meatballs appetizer recipe. It’s a fun dish for parties that adds a tasty twist to the standard meatball-and-toothpick app.
The recipe calls for using frozen turkey meatballs, which I recommend because it will make the dish a lot healthier….which means you can feel good about gobbling up more than one! (more…)

I wanted to share one final Thanksgiving recipe with you before the flurry of food, friends, family and festivities commences tomorrow.
This recipe was originally posted on my Parade blog. It’s a family recipe from my Gram (my stepmother’s mom), which was handed down to her from her mother. So, it’s been well tested over time and with great results — it’s delicious!
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! And, check back after the holiday — I’ll be posting some great leftover turkey recipes next week! (more…)

Homemade apple pie is a Thanksgiving must!
For this pie, I took a recipe from allrecipes and tweaked it to my liking. I used the basic cooking method, but added a few extra things and coated the apples. I also used Honeycrisp apples instead of Granny Smith apples.
Trust me when I say: It was delicious! I hope you give it a try. (more…)

Fall is the perfect time to dust off your soup-making skills and to start cooking up some healthy and nourishing brews.

October is the perfect time to start incorporating essential fall flavors, like pumpkin and cinnamon, into your cooking and baking.

I say “almost homemade” because my recipe calls for one box of store-bought brownie mix (I used a box of Betty Crocker fudge brownie mix) and one container of store-bought vanilla icing. Then, from there, you simply augment by (more…)
