It’s so hard to know how much Halloween candy to buy every year, and out of fear of running out, I’m always buying extra bags. Then, once the holiday is over, I’m typically left with tons of Halloween candy.
This recipe presents a fun idea for using up some of that candy: making leftover Halloween candy ice cream!
I used my favorite candy bars, Butterfingers, but you could use any kind.

- 1 cup peanut butter
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
- 10 fun-size Butterfingers
- In a large bowl, mix sugar and peanut butter together till sugar is fully incorporated, then add in vanilla extract and mix well.
- Add in heavy cream and whisk mixture until everything is fully incorporated and smooth.
- In a plastic bag, mash up Butterfingers. Set aside.
- Pour mixture into an ice cream maker. Add in crushed Butterfingers. Allow the ice cream maker to run till the ice cream gets to a soft serve-like consistency. (About 15-20 minutes, depending on your ice cream maker.)
- Once at a soft serve-like consistency, place in a freezer-safe container and freeze ice cream over night! If you like soft serve, you may enjoy right away.
