As a chef and an official kitchen gadget enthusiast, I often wonder what, out of all the available utensils and trinkets out there, is the number one, most-recommended and most-used kitchen utensil, gadget or tool of all time.
What would it be for you? When you’re preparing a meal, what’s your most relied-upon piece of equipment?
For me, the answer is easy, because there is one item that stands glaringly out in front in the battle of most-used item in the Kitchenability kitchen. And that item is: my kitchen tongs!
I use them all the time and I think they’re a staple that should be in any kitchen. Honestly, cooking dinner just wouldn’t be the same without them.
I use mine when I sauté veggies, when I make pasta, when I need to flip a piece of chicken that’s browning — you name it, the list can go on and on.
I am especially in love with OXO brand tongs. I like the silicone version better than their metal version, because the silicone is safe to use with all of my cookware and won’t scratch my pots and pans (especially important if you are using non-stick cookware).
